Whatsoever is Lovely 2022-week 7

Header for the Whatsoever is Lovely blog challenge

What could be lovelier than snow dusted violets? We had a light dusting of snow yesterday. I loved how it looked on the dark purple violets.

A dusting of snow on the top of a violet. It looks a bit like a flower fairy hat.
You could almost believe in flower fairies…
Snow dusted violet.

I think I took a picture of the last one last week…it has that little bite taken out of it’s upper petal. The light dusting of snow makes the dark flowers stand out from the dark green foliage. I still had to go down on my hands and knees to get close enough, boy was that chilly!

For the Whatsoever is Lovely blog challenge, and Cee’s Flower of the Day.

I used Raw Therapee for raw conversion and basic edits, added a tiny bit of radiance to the snow in Topaz Studio 2, then used the GIMP to crop, resize and add a watermark. I used the workflow described in: Photo processing workflow: preparing photos to use on the web using open-source software.
