Whatsoever is Lovely 2022-week 16

Raindrops on #florals

Everything seems to be in bloom these days and the weather has been variable. One morning earlier this week we had had overnight rain, here are some photos from my morning dog walk.

For the Whatsoever is Lovely blog challenge…and Cee’s Flower of the Day…and Terri of Second Wind Leisure’s Fabulous Seasonal Florals.

I used Raw Therapee for raw conversion and basic edits, then followed with the GIMP for resizing, a vignette and watermark. I used the workflow described in: Photo processing workflow: preparing photos to use on the web using open-source software.

For the dogwood I used Topaz Sharpen AI to bring the centers of the flowers into sharper focus, removing the blur from using a too wide aperture. It was a dark spot and I needed a shorter shutter speed because I was shooting hand held, with two leashes and a bag of dog doo.

  1. How lovely to see this, Kate! These are indeed fabulous florals and “phab” photography! I can’t wait to see our dogwoods in bloom soon! Then I see you are “XingFu Mama” too! Yay! Sorry I’m behind the curve and see that this is part of a challenge! And I’m excited that you are a fellow Washingtonian. Saving this idea to include in 5/1 Sunday Stills post.
